In the 21st district of Uttar Pradesh, the internet was shut down in the wake of Jumni prayers

Lucknow, 27 December 2019, Friday

Internet service was shut down on Friday, December 27 as a precautionary measure in the twenty-one district of Uttar Pradesh.

For the last few days, there has been constant violence in Uttar Pradesh over the issue of new citizenship laws and registration of citizens. Today is Friday and Jumu'ah is the prayer, so a large number of worshipers will rise. Violence is likely to erupt if it becomes too speculative on such a sensitive occasion.

The internet service was stopped in Uttar Pradesh's 20 most sensitive districts today, in view of the possibility that such tanks could be involved in spreading rumors of the Internet. All areas were being monitored with the help of a drone.

According to the Director General of Police Mprakash Singh, we requested the Imam of mosques in all the districts to appeal in a lecture after the prayer that peace and reconciliation should be maintained everywhere. There is peace everywhere now. But nothing is said.

As a precautionary measure, 120 companies of the Provincial Arms Corps and 35 companies of paramilitary forces were deployed in addition to the local police.
