Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi convened a press conference in Lucknow on Monday. He strongly criticized the state's Yogi government at the press conference and raised questions about the role of the state police in suppressing the ongoing protests against the Citizenship Investigation Act (CAA). Priyanka alleged that Uttar Pradesh police were acting with a vengeance.

"We have sent a letter to the Governor this morning," Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said. The state government's administrative system and the police have taken steps that have led to chaos. The steps he takes have no legal basis.

Priyanka said that I had gone to Bijnor. There were two children killed. A teenager operates a coffee machine. He was standing outside the house. The baby had just gone to get milk but was killed there. The body of the child has not been handed over. The family has been threatened with filing a case. Priyanka also talked about Sulaiman preparing for the UPSC.

Priyanka Gandhi further said that a 77-year-old retired officer was arrested from the house of Darapuri in Lucknow. This retired officer is an Ambedkarist. It posted a post on Facebook about anti-CAA protests. He was taken away from his house by the police.

He further said that a ten-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl are living alone today as police have arrested their mother. His mother's voice was just that he was taking video of the demonstration.

5500 people were detained in the state. More than 1100 people have been arrested. Many have been jailed without any fault. Chief Minister Yogi had made a statement that he would seek revenge and UP police were really taking revenge on Yogi's orders.

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra criticized Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi, saying that Krishna and Ram are symbols of compassion. There is no such word as revenge in the soul of our country. Sri Krishna has never talked about revenge.

The yogi wears saffron clothing but this garment does not suit him because saffron color is a symbol of India's religious faith. It is worth mentioning that there were violent protests in several cities in Uttar Pradesh against the Citizenship Investigation Act. During the demonstrations, 21 people were killed in the state. Congress is constantly targeting the state government and the central government on the CAA issue.

Judicial inquiry into the role of UP police in CAA appearances: Congress

Uttar Pradesh police should conduct judicial inquiry into illegal conduct during protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), Congress today said. Such behavior is not appropriate for the Uttar Pradesh Police bound to protect the rights of citizens.

In a 14-page memorandum written to Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, the Congress has alleged that the role of the Uttar Pradesh police in recent appearances has raised many questions. The letter is signed by Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Uttar Pradesh Congress president Ajay Kumar Lallu. A delegation of Congress went to meet the Governor in Raj Bhavan.
