BJP's turn on NRC issue in West Bengal?

In West Bengal, a BJP U-Turn was found to be a possibility on the issue of Citizens' Register (NRC).

It should be remembered here that after the independence of Bangladesh in 1971, most of the refugees came to West Bengal and that party made them their own vote bank.

Ever since the announcement of the NRC, these two states have been in strong opposition from West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the Kerala government.

BJP's West Bengal branch chief, Dilip Ghosh, recently insisted that the BJP might not implement the NRC here (ie in West Bengal).

During a conversation with the media, Ghosh said that was a future thing. Why discuss it now? The meaning of these words is to reduce political pundits so that by applying the NRC in West Bengal, the BJP will not adversely affect its ability to win the Assembly elections.

Responding to a question asked by the media, Ghosh said that the original was brought to Rajiv Gandhi but he did not dare to implement it. The BJP went to the Supreme Court on this issue. It was implemented in Assam only after the Supreme Court order. The proposal is for Rajiv Gandhi and Congress, the BJP has just implemented it.

He added that if the Center feels the need to implement this proposal across the country, the Center will reduce the issue.

It also claimed that the NRC could not be held responsible for the BJP losing three assembly seats in the last two years.
