Ajit and Fadnavis had no idea overnight alliance: Pawar

New delhi date. December 3, 2019, Tuesday

Sharad Pawar, who played an important role in forming a government in Maharashtra, said that he knew that Ajit Pawar was in touch with Fadnavis. But I had no idea that Ajit would take the oath of office overnight without informing me. He said this in an interview to a TV channel today.

He also reiterated that nobody had a dream that our party would come to power. Our plan was to sit in opposition. The idea of forming a coalition with the Shiv Sena was also new to us. But circumstances have led to decisions that have to be made to seem strange.

Highlighting how Ajit Pawar's association with Fadnavis came to an end, Sharad Pawar said that there was a huge brawl between us and the Congress meeting. I was getting angry and leaving the seat. Ajit Pawar then wondered why this government could be formed in this way. So he started negotiating with Fadnavis.

I was aware of that. But suddenly I did not know that Ajit would become deputy chief minister in the early morning. Then it was rumored that Ajit had my blessing. Because the few legislators who were present at the affidavit assumed that this alliance would not have happened without my permission! But in fact I was unaware of it.

Meanwhile, Sharad Pawar's daughter Supriya Sule had said that she had offered to work with the Prime Minister Modi (hence the alliance with the BJP-NCP). But my father politely rejected the offer.

Sharad Pawar replied to the Prime Minister and said that our personal relations are good and will be, but we cannot work together. About Uddhav Thackeray, Supriya said that there was a time when after the death of Bala Saheb, people were wondering what would happen to Shiv Sena. But today, his heir has taken over the Maharashtra command along with the party. There is no doubt about his leadership.
