Begum mercury came from Pakistan

Begum Para was born on December 25, 1926 in Jhelum. Born in a Muslim family, Mercury had 10 siblings. During an interview, Begum Para said that he initially lived in Jalandhar and then came to Bikaner. His father was a Justice and his primary course was in Bikaner.

He went to Aligarh to study college. He studied in a hostel college. His family was of modern ideas, so the practice of curtains was never followed. He also had the freedom to watch films. His name was mercury but as he came to the movies he added the words Begum to the name.

Entry to the movies

On a mercury vacation to Mumbai, there was his brother-in-law, Pratima Dasgupta, who starred in a court dancer film. His home came to many people who were connected with the film industry. At the same time he got some producers and directors who advised him to perform mercury. Thus began his film career.

Begum's Bollywood trip

Begum Para was one of the boldest actresses of the 1940,50. He made an entry in Bollywood since the age of 17. His first film was Chand in which he met Prem Adeeb. The film was released in 1944.

Begum Para has appeared in films like Sohni Mahiwal (1946), Zanjeer (1947), Mehndi (1947). He also worked with Rajkapur and Madhubala in Neil Kamal (1947). He was also seen in Laila Majnu (1953), Naya Ghar and 1st Jhalak (1955).

Marriage of Begum Para

Baji Begum Para married filmmaker Dilip Kumar's brother Nasir Khan in 1956 and took a break from films. He had three children, of which Ayub Khan is a film actor. Nasir died at the age of 49, and Mercury raised the three children alone.

Begum Para's last film

Para was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film Sawariya. The film came out in 2007. She was seen in Sonam Kapoor's grandmother's character in the film. He died in December 2008 at the age of 81.
