The first case that the Supreme Court ruled on Saturday

New delhi date. November 9, 2019, Saturday

The verdict of the Ayodhya case is considered historic in many ways, with this verdict, a century-old dispute has been settled. The Supreme Court usually works for five days a week, Monday through Friday, although the court ruled in the Ayodhya case on Saturday.

The court is usually closed on Saturday-Sunday, but the Supreme Court has announced that the Ayodhya case will be heard on Saturday so that the verdict will come soon. In previous major verdicts, the doors of the Supreme Court have been opened on Sunday night and sometimes night. However, for the first time, Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi chose Saturday for a verdict.

Earlier, when the Babri Masjid was demolished in 1992, Kalyan Singh's Uttar Pradesh government failed to comply with the Supreme Court's order and could not prevent the mosque from being demolished, even after the then Chief Justice of the Supreme Court MN. Venkatachalia started the court at his residence and conducted a hearing during the special sitting.

Chief Justice PPS H.K. Juneja said there were several cases in which hearings were held on Sunday or Saturday or even at night. Although I do not remember anything in which the verdict was given on Saturday, that is, a hearing has been scheduled on Saturday but the verdict may have been made for the first time.
