The Delhi High Court advised lawyers and the police to sit down and discuss the existing dispute.
Last Saturday, there was a clash between lawyers and the police in Tishajari court in which members of both parties suffered minor injuries. The violence then spread to other courts. In front of it, 10,000 policemen of Delhi Police jammed the chakka in Delhi from 8am to 8pm on Monday. The next day, the lawyers made a series of demonstrations. The Supreme Court and the High Court intervened to note the incident.
The police had submitted before the High Court that the same direction should be given to the injured police as the High Court had directed the injured lawyers to provide financial assistance for the treatment. However, the High Court did not accept the police application.
A bench comprising Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice C Harishankar of the Delhi High Court said that the police and the lawyer are like two sides of a coin. The two should sit down and resolve this problem. The two sides should find the solution to the clash on the most trivial issue. No need to bring between here. There is no high and no low.
This bench of the High Court had also sent the clarification sought by the Home Department of the Center. The central government sought clarification on a verdict that included a high court order not to take any action against the lawyers before the judicial inquiry was concluded. The High Court clarified that the order was sufficiently limited to the two FIRs registered on November 2nd.
