New Delhi, November 1, 2019, Friday

Pollution levels have risen alarmingly in capital New Delhi. State Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal distributed protective masks to children and especially to students.

The pollution in Delhi has been exacerbated by a sharp increase in the incidence of hailstorm in neighboring states of Haryana and Punjab for the last three to four days, a government spokesman said. Keeping an eye on pollution, according to a report from the Institute of Science, the Ministry of Science, is expected to improve the atmosphere in the next few days.

According to the pollution control board of both the states of Punjab and Haryana, the incidence of hailstorm in Punjab on October 27 was 7,842, which increased to 12,027 and on October 30 the figure reached 198,69. In Haryana, such incidents had increased from 476 to 4,221 on October 30, so pollution in capital city New Delhi was on the rise. No matter how small, pollution had reached alarming levels due to the fiery fireworks on the occasion of Diwali festival.

However, according to the voyage, pollution was expected by Friday evening or on Saturday as a result of wind coming from the west.
