Police shooter killed in Britain with knife wounds

A stabbing incident at a historic London bridge has left many people injured. The assailant was killed in a shootout that took place immediately after police reached the scene of the incident. London Metropolitan Police are investigating the incident, calling it a terrorist attack.

Police have declared the attacker dead after the terror attack. Police say they received news of a raid on a knife near the historic bridge at 2.00pm local time (British). Police say they estimated several people were injured in the attack and that the police shot one person.

According to observers, a group of people were fighting over London's historic bridge. Police reached the scene and shot the assailant. London police said it was not yet clear what caused the attack.

Earlier, the police force said it had detained one person. The London Ambulance Service has described the attack as a major incident. British Transport Police say the London Bridge Station has been closed and many trains do not stop there. Police have advised people to stay away from the scene.
