After the opening of the corridor, the first volume of devotees will depart via this corridor to Kartarpur. The area is only four kilometers away from the India-Pakistan border.

The Indian Foreign Department did not allow Sidhu to enter Pakistan from the Wagah border. Sidhu wrote a letter to External Affairs Minister Jayashankar. The Foreign Ministry had given him permission to cross the Kartarpur corridor, informed sources.

It was not yet formally announced whether Sri Sri Ravi Shankar would accept the invitation and go to Kartarpur.
