In Madhya Pradesh, a strange case has come up. The State Bank of India branch of Alampur village in Bhind district had allotted the same account number to two persons. Besides, the passbook was also allotted to both persons so that a huge scuffle ensued.

The State Bank of India had allotted the same account number to the two account holders and also provided a passbook containing the customer number. After that, one person deposited money in the account and another continued to use it as government money. This lasted for six months and the other person withdrew 89,000 rupees from the account.

Hukum Singh Kushwaha of Rurai village of Alampur opened an account at SBI's Alampur branch and received a passbook on November 12, 2018. He then moved to Haryana and started depositing his earnings in his account.

After returning to his village on October 16, 2019, he was reported to have withdrawn Rs 89,000 from his account if he went to withdraw money from his account so he contacted the branch manager.

The same account number was reported to two persons during the investigation. Another owner of that account is Hukum Singh Baghel and he is a resident of Roni village. On May 23, 2016, the bank allotted a passbook to Hukum Singh Haryana before he opened the account.

They used to go to the base kiosk center legally to raise money by thumbing a biometric machine. Giving the reason for withdrawing money without any scrutiny or consideration in this way, Baghel said that his situation was very common and he felt that he was depositing money in the Modiji account and was using it for it.

At present, he has been ordered to return the amount to Kishwah in three installments. However, he blamed the entire incident on the bank. The bank is currently working to get Kushwaha back his money and will also lodge a complaint at the police station if needed.
