All 34 political prisoners, who were kept at the Sentool Hotel since August 5, have been shifted to the hostels of the legislators with good heating. The cold weather in Srinagar has begun, which has affected the health of prisoners, leaders and social workers of the National Conference, PDP and People's Conference, as well as their security guards.

Cold frost has begun in the Kashmir Valley, including the city of Srinagar. It was the first snowfall of the season earlier this month. In the newly formed Union Territory, the administration has shifted from Srinagar to Jammu for the winter months.

The administration has made necessary changes to accommodate political prisoners in the rooms of the legislators' hostels on the Maulana Azad road in the center of the city. The Jammu and Kashmir government's Home Department has declared the hotel a supplementary jail.

Political prisoners include Sajjad Loan of the People's Conference, Ali Mohammad Sagar of the National Conference, Naeem Akhtar of the PDP and Shah Faisal, a former IAS officer. Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has been shifted from a tourist hut to a government residence in the city last Friday.
