Fadnavis will resign as CM in Maharashtra, caretaker CM

I should not talk to liars, we have never criticized PM Modi or Amit Shah: Uddhav

(PTI) New Delhi, Ta. November 8, 2019, Friday

BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis resigned as Maharashtra chief minister on Friday after five years and a week and despite allegations that Mahayuti had been asked to form the government in the Assembly elections, the ally Shiv Sena had alleged that obstruction of government was being made. Fadnavis claimed that despite the Shiv Sena's allies, Prime Minister Modi and party president Amit Shah were constantly attacked. This trend cannot be overstated.

Moreover, despite his affiliation with the BJP, his tendency to negotiate with the NCP and the Congress instead of forming the government after the election results was shocking.

Despite the BJP-Shiv Sena blaming each other for not forming a government in Maharashtra, neither party has clarified that there will be no connection between the two in the coming days. Late in the evening, BJP leader Tacher Mangantiwar said that Mahayuti was not yet broken and the Shiv Sena should maintain respect for the mandate.

Although the BJP and the Shiv Sena's Mahayuti won the majority in the results of the October 24 Assembly election results, a three-decade-old political alliance has been in question since the government could not be formed in the state for almost a fortnight.

After Devendra Fadnavis resigned after visiting the Governor, he convened a press conference at Sahyadri Guest House which was attended by BJP state leaders and ministers.

Devendra Fadnavis also thanked the people and Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray for giving him the opportunity to serve the state for five years. He said at the October 25 press conference of Uddhav Thackeray after the election results that all options were open for forming a government against the Shiv Sena.

We are shocked by his statement. The Shiv Sena had insisted for the post of Chief Minister and claimed that Amit Shah had given a two-and-a-half-year promise, but Amit Shah made it clear to me and Nitin Gadkari that I had not given any promise for two-and-a-half years.

Uddhav Thackeray is lying about this. He called Uddhav Thackeray several times to resolve the impasse, but he did not answer my call. He has repeatedly criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party president Amit Shah despite being a partner in the government for the past five years. This attitude cannot be carried out at all.

Uddhav Thackeray also held a press conference while responding to BJP after Devendra Fadnavis' journalist council. Uddhav Thackeray claimed that the BJP had agreed to share the post of Chief Minister during talks with Amit Shah before the Lok Sabha elections. He will fulfill his promise to father Bal Thackeray to make Shiv Senainek chief minister one day in the state and he does not need any Fadnavis or Amit Shah.

Uddhav repeatedly said that the BJP's attempt to make him a liar has hurt him greatly. He rejected Fadnavis' claim that Shiv Sena leaders had criticized Prime Minister Modi and Amit Shah, saying that he only criticized the NDA government and its policies from time to time.

Fear of political parties breaking legislators

Shiv Sena moves MLAs from Rangarada to Retreat and Congress to Jaipur

(Special Representative) Mumbai, Ta. November 8, 2019, Friday

Maharashtra has been found to have created a fear of having all its own parties as the alliance of all the political parties is running the policy of getting enough number of legislators to set up the government. The Shiv Sena had earlier decided for the Trident Hotel MLAs and then shifted them to Bandra Rangarada.

Legislators from outside Mumbai were kept in Rangsarada while legislative members of Mumbai were allowed to go to their respective homes. Today, the Shiv Sena MLAs have been shifted to the Retreat Fivestar Hotel in the western suburb of Mumbai. BJP and Congress MLAs have been called in Mumbai.

Sharad Pawar, the national president of the ANCP, who came out to interact with the farmers, arrived in Mumbai and visited Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut as well as Congress leaders Prithviraj Chauhan, Ashok Chauhan, Bala Saheb Thorat, Vijay Vadettiwar and others. Congress MLAs have been sent to Jaipur.

NCP alleges BJP is pushing Maharashtra towards presidential rule

(By Representative) Mumbai, Ta. November 8, 2019, Friday

The ongoing political upheaval for power in Maharashtra is not ready to calm down. NCP chief Sharad Pawar has alleged that the BJP deliberately leads Maharashtra to the presidential rule by spending time.

The formation of a government in Maharashtra requires the support of 146 legislators. The Shiv Sena and the NCP have publicly stated that if the President comes to power in the state, it will be considered a disgrace to the people and the voters of the state.

The BJP, which has 288 seats in Maharashtra, got 105 seats in the recent assembly elections and Shiv Sena got 56 seats. The NCP got 54 while Congress got 44 seats. As a result, neither party is capable of forming a government independently, and even for the alliance, a government that has formed an impasse on the issue of power sharing between the BJP and the Shiv Sena could not be formed.
