90 lakh jobs dropped in last six years: Azim Premji University's shocking report

New Delhi, November 1, 2019, Friday

A report revealing a shocking conclusion that a total of 90 lakh jobs have fallen in the last six years.

This was the first time since the country was liberated, according to a report published by Azim Premji University's Center of Sustainable Employment.

According to the report prepared by Santosh Mehrotra and JK Parida, there was a sharp decline in jobs in the country between 2011-12 and 2017-18. Santosh Mehrotra Pandit is Professor of Economics at Jawaharlal Nehru University and JK Pardah is a Professor at Central University of Punjab. According to him, in the last six years, a total of 90 lakh jobs have fallen.

However, according to another report, over one crore jobs have increased in the last five-six years. This report was prepared by Amresh Dubey and Lavish Bhandari. Both of them were named as Prime Minister's Economic Advisers.

The interesting detail is that the report prepared by Himanshu, a researcher at Pandit Jawaharlal University, claimed that there were 10 million jobs in the last six years. Bhandari and Dubey have estimated India's population to be one billion 36 million in 2017-18, while Mehrotra and Parida have estimated a population of 35 billion.

Thus all these reports were found to be contradictory.
