The economic downturn has pushed the country back 15 years: Raghuram Rajan

Former Reserve Bank Governor Raghuram Rajan said the economic slowdown had pushed the country back fifteen years.

Raghuram was speaking at a lecture organized by the National Students and Alumni Association at King's College, London. Perspective: Speaking in this lecture on Gandhi-150 topic, Raghuram said that this situation has come up because we are not serious about land, labor and logistics.

He hailed the present central government's approach as an absolute and majority favorite. He said that this approach is not public and public.

Raghuram, while lecturing at Brown University, blamed the measures like the economic downturn and measures like the GST and the fiscal deficit. He said that democracy should be protected only if we are ready to adopt a new model.
