Registration is compulsory for NRI men within 30 days of marriage

New Delhi, Oct 7, 2019, Monday

Now if an NRI man marries an Indian woman, it may be compulsory to register such marriage. The government has introduced a special bill that makes registration of such marriage compulsory. Currently, the bill has been entrusted to the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs.

After marrying Indian women, NRI men take them overseas and keep them asleep or demoralized. However, if this does not happen, from now onwards, NRI men will have to register the marriage within 30 days of marrying an Indian woman.

If these rules are violated, the passport may be forfeited or revoked. Although such a provision has been made in this Bill but the Bill has not been passed, it will become law after passing it and will come into force afterwards.

If an NRI male fails to register a marriage and the matter goes to court, even if he is not present in the court, provision has also been made in the case till his property is taken into custody.

Not only in India but also abroad, if an NRI marries an Indian woman, she must not enroll, so action can be taken against her. The steps will go from seizure of property to cancellation of passport.

These actions will be taken with the protection of women and the future. Currently, the bill has been referred to the Parliamentary Committee, which can come into force in the coming days. The bill will be properly scrutinized by this committee and will have to be answered within two months.
