Post paid mobile service restored in Jammu and Kashmir

Mobile post paid service has been restored in Jammu and Kashmir. Section 370, which grants special state status to Jammu and Kashmir, was canceled on August 5, stopping mobile phone services and Internet facilities in Kashmir as a precaution.

During this time mobile phone services were available in Jammu and Ladakh area, but they were banned from August 5 in the Kashmir Valley.

State Government Spokeswoman Rohit Kansal said the post-paid mobile phone services have been decided to be restored from Monday morning following improvement in the entire situation in the valley.

Some official statements on the restoration of the Internet feature have not been issued. Internet services have also been shut down in the Valley since August.

Sources say that initially BSNL decided to allow mobile phone connectivity only on post-paid mobiles but considering the fact that some locals do not have BSNL's post-paid connection, various service providers have re-introduced all post-paid mobile phones to services. Has decided to install:
