PM Modi and Sonia Gandhi pay homage to Gandhi on Rajghat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress President Sonia Gandhi paid a tribute to Rajghat this morning on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of President Gandhi.

Coincidentally, today is the birth anniversary of the second Prime Minister of the country, Lal Bahadur Shastri. Today is Shastriji's 116th anniversary.

After visiting Rajghat, Prime Minister Shastriji's mausoleum also went to Vijayghat where he paid tribute to Shastriji.

He was accompanied by Raj Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Ministers Piyush Goyal and Hardeep Puri, besides Delhi's Deputy Governor Anil Baijal. The leaders, including the Prime Minister, also attended a prayer meeting held at Rajghat on this occasion.

Earlier, Congress acting president Sonia Gandhi and BJP acting president JP Nadda paid tribute to Bapu at Rajghat. Today, various programs have been organized on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Bapu in various places around the country.
