Musharraf will be active in Pakistani politics from today

Islamabad, Ta. October 5, 2019, Saturday

Pakistan's former military ruler Pervez Musharraf, who has been out of politics for more than a year, has been active in politics since October 6.

Musharraf, a retired army general, plans to return to Pakistani politics from October 6 next. This has given rise to difficulties of Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Musharraf has been in Dubai since March 2016 and he is facing treason charges over suspending the Constitution. In this case, he was convicted in 2014 and sentenced to death or life imprisonment for high treason in Pakistan.

Musharraf, the founder of the All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), took a break from political activities several years ago over a health problem. Musharraf has planned to become active again in politics after the reform, and according to APML General Secretary Mehreen Malik, he also held meetings with party officials.

A program will be held in Islamabad next October 6 on the ninth founding day of APML and Musharraf will address the video via video link. In addition, Musharraf, the former president of Pakistan, appears to be making an important announcement soon.
