Kapil Dev resigns from Cricket Advisory Committee

Living legend cricketer and captain of the team that won the World Cup in 1983, Haryana Express Kapil Dev resigned from the Cricket Advisory Board.

Kapil Dev resigned after BCCI's Ethics Officer DK Jain sent a notice to Conflict of Interest on Kapil. The notice was also sent to Kapil Dev along with two other members of the committee, cricketer Anshuman Gaikwad and former captain of the women's cricket team, Shanta Rangaswamy.

Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association Life Member Sanjeev Gupta complained against the three CAC members. According to him, Kapil Dev owns a flood light company besides being a member of the CAC, so mutual interests are in conflict.

Either he should quit the rank of Flood Light Company or leave the CAC membership. Anshuman was a member of the CAC as well as an academy administrator. Shanta was a member of both the CAC and the ICA. Thus these people had a Conflict of Interest.

Still last year, all three Sachin Tendulkar in the CAC. Membership was accepted in place of Saurabh Ganguly and VVS Laxman. His committee appointed the head coach of the women's team earlier this year and then Ravi Shastri as the head coach of the regular team. Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association Life Member Sanjeev Gupta filed a complaint against him.
