Hindus buy Dhanteras not gold, controversial statement of BJP leader

New Delhi, Oct 20, 2019, Sunday

When there is communal tension in UP after the assassination of Hindu Mahasabha leader Kamlesh Tiwari by the fanatics, BJP leader Gajaraj Rana has made a controversial statement saying that Hindus need to buy a sword and not a sonar on Dhanteras day.

Gujraj Rana is the BJP president in Deoband city. Talking to the media, he said that a Supreme Court verdict will be held soon in Ayodhya. We hope that the ruling will be in favor of Ram temple. This can make the environment worse. Therefore, it would be better to buy swords instead of buying gold. Swords will be used to protect them in times of need.

"I have not spoken a word against any community or religion," said Rana. Hindus also have the custom of worshiping weapons. Goddesses have also used weapons as per the situation. That is why my statement cannot be interpreted in any other way.

Bhaja, on the other hand, has shaken Rana's statement by calling it personal thoughts.
