Goa: Hungry cows eat chicken and fish: Michael Lobo

Panaji, Ta. Tuesday 22 October 2019

Michael Lobo, a Goa minister, made a strange claim that hungry cows wandering in Goa had eaten chicken and fish thrown into the creek. Currently, such carnivorous cows are undergoing treatment.

The minister says that the rotten cows also eat the mutton thrown on the road. Some of these wandering cows were taken to the cattle shed and we were informed of the changing habits of their diet when they were grass-fed.

Speaking at a ceremony in the village of Arpora in northern Goa, Lobo said, "We are trying to revive these cows through medical treatment." Milk cattle are generally vegetarian, but here we have seen milk from the Klangut area being carnivorous. We sought the help of veterinary doctors.

We did not feed the cows and chickpeas in the cowshed. At that time we realized that cows wandered in the carnivorous areas, eating carnivorous dishes thrown into the cucumbers.

It was probably the first time in the country that milking cows had become carnivorous. Never heard of this before.
