Bihar police on Wednesday ordered the closure of the sedition case against 49 celebrities and intellectuals. Not long ago, the 49ers wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding lobbying. In which, an appeal was made to stop the lobbying of Jai Sri Ram with Nara. This letter led to a case of treason against him in Bihar.

After registering an FIR against 49 persons on the order of the court, Sadar police took the statements of the witnesses. The complainant lawyer Takhar Kumar Ojha was also summoned in the presence of the SSP. However, no concrete information was obtained from them.

Muzaffarpur SSP Manoj Kumar Sinha said that the investigation revealed that they had been charged with false intentions and lacked proper evidence. So the case has been ordered to be closed.

On Monday, SSP Manoj Kumar Sinha questioned three witnesses. Subsequently, the complainant Takir Kumar was questioned in the presence of the Superintendent of Police in Muzaffarpur. During which the complainant gave evidence to the police.

Police later said the evidence could not be justified. So now the case has been ordered to close. The 49ers were accused of writing a letter to the Prime Minister with a view to defaming the country's name. The celebrities included Shyam Benegal, Aparna Sen, Shubha Mugdal, Soumitra Chatterjee.
