China launches major military exercise on 'Line of Actual Control'

New delhi date. Wednesday 16 October 2019

Immediately after the Chinese President Jinping's departure from India, the Chinese army has launched an offensive military exercise near the Line of Actual Control. This exercise is clearly seen from the Forward Post of India and the explosions are being heard in the meantime.

China conducts 400 military exercises in 2017-18 and more than 450 in 2018-19: Activism extends along China's border after Doklam

Each country conducts military exercises on its own land, on the border, but in China's case, the surprise is that this exercise began immediately after the Chinese president departed from India. In addition, the exercise is more aggressive and a large number of People's Liberation Army (PLA) soldiers are participating.

The 3844-km-long border between India and China is called LAC - Line of Actual Control. Because this border is a permanent dispute, there is a dispute between the two countries on the frontier on Kashmir, Arunachal, etc. That is why it is called LAC instead of border.

There is a slight friction between the Indo-Chinese forces on the LAC on a regular basis. But mostly, the friction is calming down after meeting with local officials. There was no friction in this time exercise. "We are experiencing Chinese Army drills and mortar firing by them," Indian Army officials said.

China has made changes to its military alignment with India since Doklam. China has added new training for its military, including martial arts. Not only that, during the exercise, the soldiers have been given severe punishment if they cannot perform the assigned task.

With all this preparation, China wants to send a message to India that we are ready to meet whatever situation is on the border. In 2017, there was a long battle between Bhutan and India over the Bhutan issue. Finally, China had to evacuate the region.

India's readiness is to meet any situation. India has recently decided to set up the M-777 Ultra Light Howitzer at Arunachal border. Setting this howitzer, which has a range of 25 to 30 km, will be of great benefit to the security of the area.
