BJP only supports the formula of 50: 50 if Shiv Sena supports it

Maharashtra alliance demands Shiv Sena for first half year and BJP for two and a half years

In Maharashtra, the government will run under the leadership of BJP for the next five years: Fadnavis

Mumbai, Ta. October 26, 2019, Saturday

The process of forming a government in Haryana for the BJP has been completed, but in Maharashtra, Kokadu is tangled up. Shiv Sena has sought equal participation in power after BJP did not get the expected majority in Maharashtra.

Uddhav Thackeray convened a meeting of newly elected MLAs on Saturday at 'Matoshree', where the Shiv Sena remained firm on demanding a promise in writing to the BJP on a 50:50 formula for sharing power.

On the other hand, BJP President Amit Shah has indicated that talks with Shiv Sena will be held after Diwali, while Devendra Fadnavis said that a five-year sitar government will be given to the BJP-led coalition state. On the day of the election results, Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray reminded the BJP of the 50:50 formula.

At a meeting with the newly elected MLAs of the Shiv Sena on Saturday, it was demanded that Aditya Thackeray be made chief minister. Uddhav Thackeray said that 'other options are open to him', but since the BJP and Shiv Sena are linked to the ideology of Hindutva, he is not interested in thinking about other options.

In this year's election, the Shiv Sena got seven seats ahead of the 2014 elections, while the BJP got 17 seats less. In the results announced on Thursday, the BJP got 102 while the Shiv Sena got 56 seats. Uddhav Thackeray said the Shiv Sena had contested on lower seats in the Lok Sabha and the Assembly elections. However, its performance in the legislature is better.

Uddhav Thackeray has said that in the presence of party president Amit Shah and CM Devendra Fadnavis, the issue of distribution of power will have to be guaranteed in writing.

Meanwhile, BJP national president Amit Shah has made it clear that after meeting Diwali to form a new government, Shiv Sena party president Uddhav Thackeray will discuss. Amit Shah telephoned Uddhav Thackeray and congratulated him on the success of Mahayuti in the Assembly elections and Aditya Thackeray's victory.

While Shiv Sena has sought equal participation in power, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday asserted that the BJP has emerged as the largest party in this election and that the 'BJP-led coalition' will give the Sithra government in the state for five years. The process of government formation in the state will start after Diwali.

Addressing party workers, Fadnavis said that the BJP has given a clear majority to the Mahayuti of BJP, Shiv Sena, RPI, RSP and Shiv Sangram. There is no doubt that the mandate will be respected. As per the mandate, the BJP has emerged as the largest party. After Diwali, we will elect a MLA leader and a new government will be formed shortly.

He added that the strike rate of BJP seats victory is better than 2014. In 2014, we contested 260 seats and won 47 percent of the seats and got 28 percent of the votes.

In 2019 we fought for 150 seats, won 70 percent of the seats and got 26 percent of the votes. This is the highest strike rate of any political party, he said. Meanwhile, NCP president Sharad Pawar claimed to be in opposition, expressly refusing to support the Shiv Sena.

He said that people have told us to sit in opposition. We will accept the mandate and sit in opposition. On the other side, Congress leader Vijay Vadettiwar said that other parties should come together to keep the BJP out of power. He suggested the Shiv Sena to consider 'other options'.

Alliance speculates between BJP and NCP

While the Shiv Sena has taken a strong stand for equal participation in power, the BJP is believed to have formed an alliance with the NCP in the back door. Currently the leading NCP leaders are caught in the grip of the ED and the CBI.

ED has filed a money laundering case against Sharad Pawar in the Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank scam. Besides, there has been a case against Praful Patel for his association with Dawood Sagarit Mirchi. Sharad Pawar's nephew Ajit Pawar is also undergoing irrigation scam.

All of these cases have been opened mostly before the Assembly elections. The BJP is believed to have formed alliances in the back door with the NCP to support the party by dropping these cases. It is noteworthy that the BJP, in 2014, was also believed to have joined the NCP in the back door to form the government.
