Biharis Rs. In 500, Delhi arrives for free treatment of five lakhs: controversy over Kejriwal's statement

New delhi date. September 30, 2019, Monday

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that Biharis come to Delhi for Rs 500 and get free treatment for five lakhs. Due to this, Delhiites do not get adequate health facilities. The statement was heavily criticized by the BJP-JDU.

While discussing Delhi's hospitals and Delhi healthcare in a program, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that people from other states come to Delhi to avail themselves of the healthcare facility. Often, Delhiis do not get enough facilities because of this.

Kejriwal gave an example, saying that from Bihar, a person comes to Delhi for treatment by buying a ticket for Rs 500 and receives free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh from government hospitals in Delhi. The people of other states are also citizens of the country and if they get facilities, the Delhi government is happy,

But often the number of patients increases so much that the locals do not get enough treatment. Delhi's state-run health service also has a limited capacity. Because of this, the treatment of not all people is often not possible at the same time. How can Delhi provide services to citizens across the country?

Kejriwal made this statement based on a Delhi government survey. The survey found that 80 percent of patients were from other states. This statement was followed by controversy. The BJP has accused Kejriwal of showing contempt against people of other states.

The Delhi BJP president said that people would give Kejriwal a certain punishment for such ideology. On the other hand, referring to the Biharis, the Bihar's official JDU party took a jibe at Kejriwal and said that Delhi Chief Minister Balasaheb was speaking like Thackeray.
