Abdullah and Mehbooba will support the BJP in the BDC elections

Srinagar, Ta. Saturday 5th October 2019

Reports were floating in Jammu and Kashmir that the National Conference and PDP leaders would support the BJP in the block development council elections held last week.

On August 5, the Union Government canceled the 370th Article giving special status to Jammu and Kashmir, after which the leaders of the PDP and the National Conference were ignored. Such leaders included former state chief ministers Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti, as well as former union minister Dr Farooq Abdullah. These leaders have not yet been released from detention.

To get a sweet look at the BJP's Mowdy mandal, the news that these leaders were ready to support the BJP in the BDC election was flowing in the valley. As per the unconfirmed report, in addition to the National Conference and the PDP, some leaders and workers of the Congress are also ready to support the BJP.

Some activists were even reported to have agreed to get BJP membership. Such opportunism is common in politics. BJP's Kashmiri leaders are also busy trying to gain the support of more parties and leaders.
