49 celebrities wrote an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the growing incidence of mob lynching in the country. Two months after writing this letter, Bihar police have now lodged an FIR under various sections of the IPC, including sedition by celebrities.

The politics of the country is against the police action. On the one hand, the central government has defended itself saying that this FIR has not been filed by the central government. On the other hand, the opposition, which has come out in favor of celebrities, has accused the center of suppressing the voices of the protesters.

Regarding the action of Bihar police against celebrities including Shyam Benegal, Mani Ratnam, Shubha Muthigal, Ramchandra Guha, Aparna Sen, Anurag Kashyap, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on Saturday said, "The government has nothing to do in this case. The central government has not filed an FIR against these celebrities.

One person went to court against the letter written by the celebrity to the Prime Minister and the police have registered an FIR on the court order. ' Bihar police on Friday registered an FIR under various sections of the IPC on allegations against 49 celebrities, including sedition, public outcry and degradation of peace.

Politics has been hot on the issue since the complaint was filed against celebrities. Opening in favor of celebrities from various fields, Congress tried to surround the central government on this issue.

"My India has gone astray," senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal wrote in a sarcastic tweet. He wondered about the case filed against the celebrity and asked who should actually be charged with sedition. Surely Shyam Benegal, Ramchandra Guha, Shubha Muthigal, Mani Ratnam, who are conscience-conscious.

The country's 49 celebrities appealed on July 23 to take immediate steps to stop 'mob lynching incidents of Muslims, Dalits and other minorities', and to prevent the 'Jai Sri Ram' slogan from being "provocative."

The letter mentioned that "no democracy can survive without disagreement" and that people expressing opposition should be prevented from calling 'anti-national' or 'Urban Naxal'. On July 27, the lawyer Sudhir Kumar Ojha filed a complaint against the celebrities in Muzaffarpur Chief Judicial Magistrate Court after writing this open letter to the Prime Minister.
