200 leaders were jailed in Kashmir and peace was established: Ram Madhav

(PTI) Jammu, Ta. October 5, 2019, Saturday

Jammu and Kashmir government has approved a delegation of 15 leaders of the National Conference to meet party president Farooq Abdullah and vice president Amor Abdullah.

Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah are currently under detention in Kashmir while Jammu leaders were recently released from detention. Meanwhile, BJP national general secretary Ram Madhava claimed the status quo in Jammu and Ladakh, saying that peace was restored in the valley after 200 Kashmir leaders were jailed. However, there are still some issues to be resolved in Kashmir.

A delegation led by party president Devendra Singh Rana and former party legislator will leave Jammu to Srinagar on Sunday morning, a National Conference spokesman said.

The day before the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, most political leaders were detained in the state as part of a vigil. Jammu and Kashmir leaders were released on October 2nd after the announcement of the elections to the ruling Swaraj in Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav claimed that the situation in Jammu and Ladakh was normal. But on Kashmir, he said that some issues were still pending in the valley. The people of Jammu and Ladakh are happy to remove Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, but stability is not yet common in Kashmir.

He said that more than 200 leaders were detained in the state. For two months, these leaders have been kept under house arrest at the Five Star Hotel and peace has been found in the state. For the last seven decades, there has been no solution to the dispute. But after removing Article 370 from the state, the situation in Jammu and Ladakh is on the decline.

The people of Ladakh are happy with the decision of the Center as they have been demanding removal of the clause for a long time. He added that not every Kashmiri is a traitor and not every Kashmiri is a separatist. Those people are just like me and you. Article 370 has been removed from the state because we wanted to give Kashmir the right to development.

We wanted to give them political rights. We wanted the people of Kashmir to live a dignified life. The Kashmir Valley still has some issues. These issues will be addressed and resolved in a very sensitive way. The importance of the decision to remove Article 370 will be explained to the people of Kashmir.
