Sindhu loses first match at Korea Open

World Champion and Indian Badminton Stars P.V. Sindhu made a major upset by throwing out the first match at the Korea Open Badminton Tournament. Saina Nehwal and Sai Pranit of India were injured and left out of the match. World champion Sindhu had to be knocked out in the opening round in Korea too after the China Open.

Sindhu was defeated in the women's singles by Beavon Zhang of the United States 4-6, 6-6, 6-3.

Sai Pranit and Saina Nehwal were injured in the match. Pranit was 3-6, 3-6 against Antonensen of Denmark when he was injured and moved out. When Saina Nehwal, who won the bronze medal at the London Olympics, was 3-6, 6-3, 6-5 in a match against South Korea's Kim Ga Un, she was injured and moved out.
