(PTI) New Delhi, Ta. September 19, 2019, Thursday

Congress leader d. That Shiv Kumar could not legalize his illegal properties by paying tax only, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) said in court on Thursday. The ED has argued in a money laundering case, opposing the Congress bail leader Shiv Kumar's bail application.

The ED had argued before Special Judge Ajay Kumar that if Shiv Kumar was released, he could influence people who were aware of his 'serious crimes' of money laundering.

Additional Solicitor General K like this. Nataraj, appearing on behalf of the ED, said that he was not cooperating during the investigation and Rs. He could not provide a rational explanation of the source of the acquisition of assets worth 800 crores. His advertisement for the property is irrelevant. The question is how did he buy this property. Even if they pay taxes on these properties, those properties are considered illegal. They cannot legalize illegal property simply by paying taxes.

The ED said that the claims made by Shivkumar are 'untrustworthy'. They say they are farmers. In the last 20 years, he spent Rs. It has estimated revenue of Rs 1.38 crore. When the value of the whole property is Rs. 800 crores. Rs. 1.38 crore investment worth Rs. It is unbelievable that 800 crore has been made.

Opposing ED's arguments, senior advocate Dayan Krishnan, appearing for the Karnataka Congress, said that Shiv Kumar never claimed that the nominal income from the property was Rs. 800 crores. The court adjourned further hearing of the case on September 21.

Considering the crisis in Congress d. That Shiv Kumar has been sent to Tihar Jail, No.7. Former Finance Minister P.J. Chidambaram has also been in judicial detention since September 5th.
