Railways earns Rs 25,000 crore in four years from ticket booking immediately

Immediately the ticket booking service has proved to be the same as milking cows for the railways. Due to this service, the Railways has earned Rs 25,000 crore in four years from 2016 to 2019.

Railways has disclosed the above in response to information sought under RTE.

It is worth mentioning that the immediate service started from 1997 for some select trains. Then in 2004 this service was implemented all over the country. For this ticket, 10% more than the original ticket in the second class and 30% more than the original cost of the ticket in the rest of the category.

The app is being launched in 2014 with premium immediate service. The last time a person wants to book a ticket is to pay for the ticket based on the availability of the seat.

Currently 2677 trains have immediate ticket service.
