Pakistan will give Consular Access to Kulbhushan Jadhav today

Kulbhushan Jadhav, a retired Indian Navy officer facing death sentence in Pakistan, will be given consular access on September 2, which means he will be interviewed with the Indian Embassy. It is worth mentioning that six weeks after the ICJ's order to provide consular assistance to Kulbhushan, Pakistan announced the decision.

Following the announcement from Pakistan, the Indian External Affairs Ministry has demanded that Kulbhushan Jadhav be interviewed with the Indian Embassy without any conditions or supervision.

Kulbhushan Jadhav is a retired Navy officer. After his retirement he started trading and was arrested by Pakistan while he was in Iran for business activities.

Pakistan accused him of espionage and sentenced him to death by conducting a trial in that case. India has also appealed to the ICJ in this regard.
