Leave Your Mom to Meet Your Honor, Mehbooba Mufti's Daughter Helps in Supreme Court

New delhi date. 5 September 2019 Thursday

Iltija, daughter of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, had petitioned the Supreme Court to allow me to visit my mother in detention and inform the government officials.

On behalf of Altija, a lawyer named Attrash Kamara appeared and applied on behalf of Altija, who had requested that the leftist leader Sitaram Yechury ask for permission to meet his friend. The Supreme Court granted Yechury a condition that you should not do any kind of political activity there. Only your friends can meet you.

The petition was made before a bench comprising Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Justice SA Bobde and Justice SA Nazir. Mehbooba Mufti and several other Kashmiri leaders were detained after the Central Government canceled the special status of Jammu and Kashmir on August 5th. Iltija claimed that government officials would not allow me to visit my mother.
