Jethmalani won the Lok Sabha elections in Canada

Ram Jethmalani, the country's top lawyer, has passed away. Ram Jethmalani, a celebrity lawyer, was equally active politically.

Ram Jethmalani, who was a Rajya Sabha MP from different parties, was the law minister in Atal Bihari Vajpayee's government. He came close to the BJP in the wake of the Congress opposition, but after becoming law minister, his differences with the BJP continued to grow. It was finally time for him to quit. There were a number of cases in which Jethmalani marched against the BJP.

Following the statements against the BJP, Ram Jethmalani, who was expelled from the BJP for six years, joined Lalu Yadav's party and became the Rajya Sabha MP from the RJD.

Ram Jethmalani had to leave the country and go to Canada because of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's encounter. While in Canada, he contested and won the Lok Sabha elections in Mumbai.

He won the Lok Sabha elections again in 1980 but lost the election in 1985 against Sunil Dutt .In1996 and 1999 he became law minister in Vajpayee's government.

It is believed that during his tenure as minister, the differences with his then solicitor general, Soli Sorabji, became more acute. After that he started protesting against his own government. As a result, he lost the position. Arun Jaitley was then entrusted with the responsibility of the Legal Ministry.

Several years ago, there was a situation where he had appeared before Arun Jaitley in the court on behalf of Kejriwal in the defamation case.
