Important meeting of Home Department started on Jammu and Kashmir issue

New Delhi, September 16, 2019 Monday

A meeting of the Union Home Department, headed by Home Minister Amit Shah, started here this morning to discuss the importance of Jammu and Kashmir.

A spokesman for the government said that intelligence officials were also present at the meeting. Apart from the Home Secretary, National Security Advisor Ajit Dobhal was also present at the meeting.

For the past 40 days, Pakistan has been continuously bombing and firing on borders after the Union Government canceled the 370th Article that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir, but the Indian army has been sitting calmly. Earlier, military officials had demanded before the Center to give us a loose line. But India does not want to accept such a hasty step.

According to the Jammu and Kashmir State Government Spokesperson and Indian Army Spokesperson, peace was prevalent everywhere in the state except in the event of sporadic violence and two to four incidents of terrorism.

On August 6, the Central Government announced the elimination of special status of Jammu and Kashmir and declared Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh as territories. Since then Pakistan has collapsed and has been constantly violating the tactics on a regular basis. However, the Indian Army consistently exercised restraint. There is no denying that any important decision can be taken at today's Home Department meeting.
