Hyderabad: NIA records human trafficking case for the first time: 3 arrests

New delhi date. September 19, 2019 Thursday

The NIA has for the first time registered a case of human trafficking against three men believed to be involved in the illegal trafficking of women in Bangladesh and the incarceration of them.

Hyderabad police arrested Mohammad Yusuf Khan, who lives in Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh), his wife Bidhi Begum, and a native of West Bengal and a Sojib who lived in Hyderabad when he was arrested. All three were charged with human trafficking.

For the first time, a human trafficking case was registered under the recently passed NIA Act. Police said that Muhammad Yusuf Khan and his wife Bidhi Begum operated a hideout in Uppuguda, Hyderabad. Police released five Bangladeshi women from there.

The case was handed over to the National Security Agency in August, making it an international case because Bangladeshi women are involved. Police raided Uppguda's coffin with information received earlier.
