Chandigarh, Ta. Wednesday, September 25, 2019

Ten youths returning from the Indian Army after giving various tests to join the Indian Army died in a road accident in Haryana. Some of the slain youths were cadets of the military academy, a police official said.

The oil tanker jumped on the rickshaw in the accident that took place late on Tuesday, leaving the youth sitting in the rickshaw. Doctors said the condition of a young man was still serious.

Almost all youths went to the Indian Army to undergo a physical test and all the youth passed the test. But nature would not allow that, so all the oil tankers were crushed underneath.

Police were investigating how the accident happened. The rickshaw was heading towards Jind from Hisar. The collision of the oil tanker was so severe that the rickshaw puller was lying down. The oil tanker had gone after crushing the youths sitting in it.

Jind's DSP said that two youths of Ekad have been identified and the bodies are being handed over to their families. The youths also passed the medical test on Tuesday after undergoing a physical test and now leave Thang to join the army.

Police said the headlight of the oncoming tanker was so powerful that the rickshaw driver's eyes were lost and he could not see the tanker. Police had to take huge steps to remove the trapped youths under the tanker.
