Former Kolkata police commissioner was not present at the CBI office today to face inquiries in connection with the Sarada cheat fund scam.

Kumar was summoned to appear in the office at two o'clock on Monday afternoon, but Kumar did not go to the headquarters of the country's premier investigating agency in Salt Lake.

Earlier on Saturday, Kumar was summoned to appear before the investigating agency, but he would not appear for questioning.

CBI officials went to 'Nabbana', the secretariat of the state on Saturday and gave a letter to the state's director general Virendra in which Kumar was asked to appear at the agency's office on September 16 at two o'clock in the afternoon.

Kumar is currently the Director General of the State CID. CBI officials went to the secretariat on Monday morning and complained to Chief Secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay that Kumar did not attend the agency on Saturday.

On Monday, he informed the two officers to be present for Kumar. The investigating agency tried to find out where Kumar was at the time and on what basis he was given a month-long leave, a senior official in the secretariat said. Besides, agency officials also tried to know when Kumar would appear for the probe.
