Even those who cannot prove citizenship will get all the rights: Center

The final list of the NRC, the National Register of Citizens in Assam, has been declared, according to which around 19 lakh people have failed to prove themselves as Indian citizens, so they cannot be included in the list. In the midst of this situation, what is happening to them now is such a situation of confusion that the government has claimed that no injustice will be done to anyone.

The government clarified that anyone who could not be included in the NRC and failed to prove citizenship should not be considered as a stateless person.

At the same time, they will not be deprived of whatever rights they have been given. A statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that anonymity in the NRC does not mean removing a person from the privileges he has received.

External Affairs Ministry spokesman Ravish Kumar said that no such action would be taken against a person whose name is not in the NRC, who will have the same rights as citizens.

The government has also urged people to abstain from false rumors that such a person would not be considered foreign. Also, the government has said that those who are not in the list of names will be given the opportunity to prove their citizenship and for this, 200 more tribunals will be set up in Assam.

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan poisoned the matter with religion, saying that the NRC was anti-Muslim. However, the government has made it clear that no one has been asked about their religion in the entire NRC process. Even the form for the NRC does not have any association with one's religion. So it should not be linked to religion.

The NRC process has been undertaken only in keeping with the Constitution of India. However, on the other hand, there are claims that the names of people who could not be included in the list are mostly Muslims in Bangladesh.
