ED appeals Delhi High Court to detain Robert Vadra

New delhi date. September 26, 2019, Thursday

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has appealed the Delhi High Court to quash Robert Vadra's detention and ask him to cancel his bail. The ED told Justice Chandrasekhar that Robert Vadra did not cooperate in investigating the money laundering case against him.

However, Vadra's lawyer rejected ED's claim, saying that whenever the agency called, Vadra appeared and cooperated fully in the investigation. The lawyer said not accepting the allegations leveled at Robert Vadra did not mean that they did not cooperate with the investigation.

After hearing the arguments of both parties, the court has given November 5 a final date for final discussion in the matter. The lower court granted Vadra advance bail and ED has appealed to the High Court to quash the bail. Vadra is accused of money laundering for the purchase of Rs 17 crore at 12 Bryanston Square in London.
