Delhi Government to sell onion at cheaper prices

The Delhi government will start selling onion from Rs 23.90 per kg on Saturday to give relief to the residents of the onion prices. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal informed about the onion sale on Friday. Arvind Kejriwal said that each family will be allowed to buy a maximum of five kilograms of onion.

Currently the price of onion in the capital Delhi is still high, according to the Consumer Ministry, the retail price of onion in Delhi on Friday was Rs 59 per kg. For the last 3 days, the price has been running at Rs 60 per kg. Onion prices have begun to decline in the wholesale market. In Lasalgaon, Maharashtra, the most closed wholesale market for onion businesses across the country, prices have started falling.
