Chidambaram sentenced to two more days in custody despite CBI denial

Former Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram has been arrested. Chidambaram is currently in CBI custody, his custody time was set to expire on Tuesday. But the Supreme Court has sent Chidambaram into custody for two more days.

If the court had not taken this decision, it would have been possible for Chidambaram to go to Tihar jail. But now they have some relief from going to jail. However, the Supreme Court argued on behalf of the central government that Chidambaram was no longer in custody.

It was argued by Solicitor General Tushar Mehta that Chidambaram's inquiry had been completed and the CBI no longer had any questions to ask Chidambaram. However, in the Supreme Court, P.K. In view of the arguments made by Kapil Sibal and Abhishek Singhvi on behalf of Chidambaram, the court later sent Chidambaram into custody for two more days.

If not sent to CBI custody, they are sent to judicial custody during which they are kept in jail. However, Chidambaram has been released from jail for two more days. So now on the 5th of September it will be decided whether Chidambaram will be sent to Tihar Jail.

While the arguments were underway, the CBI solicitor general argued that Chidambaram had filed bail on Monday. Which will be heard in the lower court. Now the CBI does not need custody as there is no interrogation of Chidambaram. He was sent to Tihar Jail in judicial custody.

However, the Supreme Court did not accept the arguments and the matter was adjourned till September 5. Chidambaram had also said that he would not force bail in the lower court. Chidambaram was produced in a CBI court shortly after the Supreme Court's order. Wherever now more hearings will be held on September 5th.
