New Delhi, September 15, 2019, Sunday

Often, such situations arise or it seems that Subramanian Swamy's career is over. But only then did they reappear like the mythical Phoenix bird. Subramanian Swamy, a teacher, economist, mathematician, politician, lawyer, fanatic, animal lover, was born into a Tamil Brahmin family. His family belongs to intellectuals and this is the reason why he describes himself as being born in a 'long line of warrior Brahmins'. There are many things about him that nobody even knows about today, so let's know about some of those things today.

* His father was a renowned mathematician whose name was Sitaram Subramaniam. He was the director of the Indian Statistical Institute.

* Swami was born on September 15, 1939 in the Mailapur area of Chennai.

* He holds a BA in Mathematics from the Hindu College of Delhi University. Degree in Honors. He was third in the entire university.

* His father was transferred when he was not even six months old and in 1940 he came from Madras to Delhi.

* He joined ISI Kolkata for post graduation and here began his first fight.

* The then ISI director was a business competitor to Swami's father. Director P.C. Mahalanobis got bad grades when he found out that Swami is the son of Sitaram Subramanian.

* The brain production of Mahalanobis was planned at that time. Which was abolished decades later by Prime Minister Modi.

* Mahalanobis was someone with whom no one could think of hostility while in the organization.

* But in order to solve complex problems, Swami also defeated PC Mahalanobis. That's when Mahalanobis received the Mayor of Paris Award for outstanding contributions to statistics.

* In his paper 'Notes on Fractal Graphical Analysis' in his paper, Mahalanabis' analysis theory proved to be a copy of an old equation. This was his first big job.

* He had the opportunity to search at Howard where he showed his talents to American economist and inventor Hendrick S. Hauteker. On the recommendation of Hendrick published one of his papers in Economometrica.

* With the help of a Rockefeller Fellowship, Swami completed his PhD at the age of 24 in just two and a half years, gaining specialization in mathematics in the 1960s. He was only 27 years old when he received his doctorate degree.

* In Howard, he wrote a paper with the American Paul Sammuitson before winning the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences. The paper, published in 1974, was written on the Theory of Index Numbers.

* The lord became a well-known Chinese economy. Here he studied the economies of India and China. Someone here challenged them not to learn the Chinese language Mandarin a year ago. But Swami had learned this language in just 3 months.

* Even today the doctor is regarded as a notorious lord of the Chinese economy. He is regarded as a pioneer in the comparative study and analysis of India-China economies.

* Swami is in favor of a free market economy, he was invited by Amartya Sen to teach at the Delhi School of Economics. Swami's market-friendly ideas were popularized in Manmohan Singh's 1991 budget. He came to Delhi from Howard in 1968.

At that time, his views were in favor of radical change, which was no more acceptable than the slogan of the then Indian leader Indira Gandhi's 'socialist poverty alleviation'.

* Swami eventually accepted Amartya Sen's proposal and a young scholar like him was made a professor for Chinese studies. When he arrived at the Delhi School of Economics (DSE) from Howard, another educationist with him left Howard. But he was only given the position of reader.

* The students then supported the lord. He moved to IIT Delhi in 1969 where he taught economics to students. He was discussing national and international topics in the hostel with the students.

* He then suggested that India should abandon the five-year plans and stop seeking foreign aid. He believed that by doing so, the economy could grow by up to 10 percent.

In the year 1970 Swami came to the notice of Indira Gandhi. He was considered one of the powerful Prime Ministers of the country. During the debate on the budget, Indira rejected Swami's views. He said it was' Santa Claus with impractical ideas. However, this was the first time that Indira had mocked the lord's views.

The enmity with Indira cost him dearly and the then central government showed him way beyond the IIT in December 1972. Swami then filed a case in court against his illegal dismissal. He won the case in 1991 and went to IIT for a single day after he had proved his point and resigned.

* His political innings began in 1974. At that time he became the father of a daughter but had no business. They started thinking about moving to America again.

* Senior BJP leader Nanaji Deshmukh called on him and said that the party had selected him for representation in Rajya Sabha. In 1974, he was elected to the Rajya Sabha. During the crisis he became the wrath of the government.

* He was a political hero during the crisis. His arrest warrant was issued by the government but he disappeared after reaching the Lok Sabha at the costume of Sardar and giving a brief speech. They lived for 19 months underground.

* On 10 August 1976, he fell asleep in the government by participating in the Lok Sabha proceedings. He then went out of the country after the crisis and became a founding member of the Janata Party.

* Later, the Janata Party split, but they remained in the Janata Party and finally on 11 2013 Gust 2013, they properly merged their party into BJP. Opposition parties were mocking their party, but they were sticking to their views.

* He also became a lawyer with politics and played an important role in exposing the 2nd scandal. He wrote a letter to the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in 2008 asking for permission to sue the king in the scandal.

* Swamin spoke to Chinese leaders to extend the reach of Indians to Kailash Mansarovar and in the process he met then senior Chinese leader Deng Shiao Ping. Due to Dr. Swami's efforts, the people of India can travel to a remote pilgrimage like Kailash Mansarovar.
