On September 6, the MMTC issued tenders for import of onions. The tenders were for importing onions from China, Pakistan, Egypt, Afghanistan and other countries. Shetty further said that government tender stipulated that the first shipment of onion should be made by November. In November, a large onion of kharif crop will be present at home.
