Only money can be withdrawn from ATM in 24 hours: Delhi State Level Bankers Committee

If you are raising money through ATMs to deal with everyday business, read carefully now. In the near future you will be able to withdraw money through ATMs only twice in twenty-four hours. There will be a twelve hour period between the two transactions.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the Delhi State Level Bankers Committee on Tuesday. The committee made several suggestions to prevent ATM robbery and fraud. One of these suggestions was to make provision to withdraw money only once in twenty-four hours. There should be a duration of six to twelve hours between the two withdrawals.

The meeting involved 18 banks. The committee also opined that one-time password (OTP) accessibility should be enhanced in addition to PIN. The arrangement that each account holder makes with this OTP will be more secure.
