Kashmir step is undemocratic: Gandhi's grandson Tushar Gandhi

Jaipur, Ta-14 August 2019, Wednesday

Tushar Gandhi, the grandson of President Gandhi, criticized the central government's move to abolish the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. He said the move was undemocratic. No rule of democracy has been followed here.

Tushar Gandhi, president of the Gandhi Foundation, said at a ceremony in Jaipur that if the people of Jammu and Kashmir were to argue with the move, why was the army and security in such a large number of Jammu and Kashmir thrown up? This is a step to crush democracy.

He asserted that the center's move to abolish the special status of Jammu and Kashmir is arbitrary and undemocratic. It cannot be played. He said that people are being intimidated in the name of Ram. Most worryingly, most of the citizens of the country are silent on this issue.
