82% reservation in government jobs in this state of the country

New delhi date. 28. Wednesday, August 2019

In Chhattisgarh, the Congress government has rejected giving 10 per cent reservation to the economically weaker sections in education and government jobs.

Interestingly, the total reservation figure in Chhattisgarh has now reached 82 per cent, which is the highest in India.

At present Chhattisgarh has reservation of 32 per cent for Scheduled Tribes, 13 per cent for Scheduled Castes and 27 per cent for other backward classes. Then the Modi government decided to reserve 10 per cent for the economically weaker sections. Which was accepted by the Chhattisgarh government.

The Supreme Court has stated that the reservation should not be more than 50 per cent but Chhattisgarh already has 22 per cent more reservations than that.
