Incidents of flights being delayed for hours due to technical faults are happening in all countries of the world, but in one case in China, even the authorities were surprised to know the reason for the delay in the take-off of the plane.

According to the details, the flight of China Southern Airlines from Sanya to Beijing was scheduled to take off at 10 am on March 6, but before boarding the plane, a passenger motivated by superstition threw a currency coin into the engine of the plane for good luck and due to this, the flight was stopped.

According to a video of the incident, a flight attendant saw a passenger throwing a coin into the plane's engine. The fact came out when he questioned the passenger. After that the search for coins in the engine was started. After 6 hours of effort, the coin was found and the flight was cleared for take off.

The airline said that the behavior of the passenger was not only rude but also posed a serious threat to the safety of the aircraft and the airline would take legal action against the passenger.

Many people believe in the belief of tossing a coin before perhaps traveling in China. Also in 2021, a flight from Weifeng to Haiku was canceled after a passenger threw a coin wrapped in red paper into the plane's engine before boarding.
