Facebook-Instagram users have to pay money, Meta cuts fees after huge protests in Europe

Meta Privacy Policy: You have to pay to use social media platforms Facebook and Instagram. But this rule is not applicable in India but in some European countries. Here is a fee to use ad-free Facebook and Instagram. Meta took a decision on this some time ago. This was part of the company's subscription model. This was announced by Meta. Now new information regarding this has come to light.

Reduced subscription model fees

The company has reduced the fees for the subscription model. Facebook's fee has been reduced to EUR 5.99 (roughly Rs. 540). The fee for Instagram has been reduced to EUR 9.99 (around Rs. 900). The company has taken this decision keeping privacy in mind. The policy was opposed by privacy activists and consumer groups in Europe.

Meta said that this fee has to be paid to ensure privacy. Meta used to use its users' data, but after new data privacy laws from European regulations, Meta decided to charge for not being able to access the data. The rule, which was implemented in November, was met with a lot of opposition. This charge was levied on users aged 18 years and above.
